Honeycomb activated carbon has a classfication of water waterproof and non-waterproof. They are same in materials but different in production processes and the costs.
No matter waterproof or non-waterproof version, there is a drying process for the finished products in the production process. There are two ways, one is natural air-drying, and the other is kiln drying at high temperature. Generally for non-waterproof honeycomb activated carbon, it only needs to be dried under natural air. But for the waterproof one, an extra 10 hours of high temperature kiln calcination have to be added after the natural air-drying. Relying on a constant supply of gas, the kiln produces an open flame of 800 degrees Celsius, which is used to dry honeycomb activated carbon. Only after the kiln calcining, the finished honeycomb activated carbon can really have water-resistant and high adsorption effect. Waterproof honeycomb activated carbon has greater advantages than conventional item, so it is much higher in cost than the general honeycomb activated carbon.
