Characteristic of Activated Carbon Fiber
Activated carbon fiber (ACF), also known as fibrous activated carbon,is highly active adsorbents and environmental engineering materials with better performance than activated carbon. More than 50% of its carbon atoms are located on the inner and outer surfaces, and form a unique adsorption structure, which is called surface solid. It is formed by carbonization and activation of fibrous precursors. The developed specific surface area and narrow pore size distribution make it have faster adsorption and desorption speed and larger adsorption capacity, and because it can be easily processed into felts, cloth, paper and other different shapes, and has acid and alkali resistance and corrosion resistance characteristics.
Use of Activated Carbon Fiber
It is suitable for treating organic wastewater containing phenol, medicine and mercaptan which is difficult to be biodegraded. Because of its large adsorption capacity, fast adsorption speed, good desorption performance and easy regeneration, the device can be miniaturized and continuous. The engineering design is simple and flexible, the operation cost is low, and there is no secondary pollution. It can be used for decolorization and deodorization in food, beverage, medicine, sugar making and brewing industries, purification and sterilization of drinking water and removal of residual chlorine in tap water.
