Application Of Activated Carbon in Daily Life

Activated carbon is divided into different types based on its function and appearance, such as coconut shell activated carbon, fruit shell activated carbon, coal based activated carbon, columnar activated carbon, powdered activated carbon, honeycomb activated carbon, etc. Different types of activated carbon have different functions. Only by fully understanding their specific functions can ideal results be achieved during use.

The best way to control air pollution is to use honeycomb activated carbon. The honeycomb activated carbon produced by Henan Taiyuan Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. has a large specific surface area, microporous structure, and high adsorption capacity, and is widely used in air pollution control. The honeycomb activated carbon adsorption method is used, which involves the contact of exhaust gas with porous activated carbon with a large surface area. The pollutants in the exhaust gas are adsorbed and decomposed, thereby achieving purification.

The problem of indoor formaldehyde in new house decoration has been difficult for many people, until the emergence of activated carbon gave hope in removing formaldehyde, and the efficiency has been increasing. However, most people do not know that although activated carbon is good, its use and operation are also important in order to maximize its effectiveness.

1. Usage of activated carbon

Only by using the appropriate amount can activated carbon fully exert its good effects. Normally, a 110 square meter residential building can be used at a rate of 50-100 grams per square meter. This is a reference standard, and in practice, it is necessary to consider increasing or decreasing the usage based on the indoor decoration pollution situation. It should be noted that this 50-100 grams/square meter does not mean that one square meter can accommodate so much, but is only used to calculate the total production of indoor space.

2. Appropriate operating methods

Activated carbon is mainly used in areas with severe environmental pollution. We can place activated carbon in kitchen cabinets, shoe racks, and other application cabinets, or near wooden furniture such as tea tables and dining tables. It can also be placed in areas where indoor air purification is necessary. The full utilization of the effect of activated carbon is achieved through the medium of gas. When applied in large indoor spaces, there may be some limitations to the full utilization of the effect.

3. Height to width ratio of activated carbon placement

Many residents in residential areas have limited knowledge of harmful substances such as indoor formaldehyde and benzene, and believe that the roof is a gathering point for indoor formaldehyde. Therefore, placing activated carbon on the decoration ceiling is actually an incorrect practice. The proportion of indoor formaldehyde and benzene exceeds that of gas, so the lower part of the building is an area with severe environmental pollution. Therefore, it is better to place activated carbon within an aspect ratio of 180CM.

4. Continuous application

After using a pack of activated carbon for 20 days, it needs to be exposed to the sun for 3-5 hours. The activated carbon solved in this way can be used for about 6 more months. The vent holes of activated carbon are relatively limited. After reaching saturation, it needs to be exposed to sunlight to allow water to evaporate from the vent holes.

So, when using activated carbon, remember to maintain natural ventilation to better facilitate its adsorption.
